A close cousin of rigatoni, this spiral pasta is named after the Latin word for "twist." This maccherone-style pasta is one of the oldest and is named after the Latin for "twist." However unlike rigatoni, tortiglioni tubes have larger and deeper groves. This gives it more of an industrial look while still creating an ideal delivery mechanism for a delicious pasta sauce. An especially great fit for heavier cream, vodka and meat-based sauces, this cut will stand out no matter how complicated the dish.
