Originally from France, Crème Fraîche is a rich, cultured cream that will enhance any recipe that calls for sour cream. The rich taste and unique cooking advantages of crème fraîche will bring depth of flavor and a smooth texture to dips, baked goods, soups and finishing sauces. Silky and spoon-able, but lighter than mascarpone with a fat content around 30%. It’s cultured with bacteria, similar to sour cream, giving it a slightly looser and less sour consistency.
