Invented in Liguria, penne or "quill" shaped pasta is a skinnier version than traditional penne. While still grooved, this oblique cut is first originated when women using scissors would give an irregular cut to each cut of pasta. The term "mezzi" means "half" indicating its smaller size. But these cylinder-shaped pieces are great for trapping sauce or just being cooked to a perfect al dente from the inside and out. The package I received had 5 open boxes of pasta in it. I've tried 3 times to reach out to them, but no response.
I plan to file a complaint with my state consumer affairs office and my state Attorney Generals office. This is not a good way to do business.
